Meet the Briefcase for MacBook Air
Denver- Popular Apple accessories design company Happy Owl Studio announced this week the beginning of pre-sales for it's beautiful new Briefcase for MacBook Air. The case isn’t expected to ship for another 4-5 weeks, but pre-sales are already quite strong. The Unofficial Apple Weblog’s TUAW Features Editor, Steven Sande, was among the first to get a look at the laptop case at a recent meeting with Happy Owl Studio co-founders Devon Read and Ryan Jordan. If photos of this case don’t turn your head on their own right away, Steven’s review certainly will. "It is totally sweet, and I have to apologize to Devon and Ryan for drooling on the two samples that they brought to our meeting...but trust me when I say that it is the nicest MacBook Air bag I've ever laid eyes on. "
Happy Owl Studio set out to design a laptop case that highlights the slim form of Apple's MacBook Air. This beautiful leather case is designed to fit all of the essentials in a sleek and slim package. The Briefcase has an easy to access double-closure method (using a magnet & leather straps) to ensure MacBook Air and accessories are kept safe and secure. On the inside, there is a padded computer sleeve that protects the MacBook Air from the knocks and bumps of daily life and an accessories compartment that is wide enough to fit the 45W MagSafe™ power adapter and lots of other lose adapters and accessories. It even includes a pair of interior cable-loops to help keep loose USB cables and headphones organized.
"One of the biggest selling points of the MacBook Air is that it is super-thin and light" said Devon Read, CEO of Happy Owl Studio, "I wanted a case that is light, secure, and really attractive, but I could only find cases with, at most, two of those three qualities."
Like the iPad cases and iPhone cases in the Happy Owl Studio product line, the Briefcase for MacBook Air is the result of a long and painstaking process of revision and refinement to make the case perfect. Happy Owl Studio’s co-founders used their early prototypes heavily in an effort to road-test the design and the durability of the Apple laptop case. As areas showed wear, or ideas for improvements arise, the designs were refined and new samples created.
"We've got the first case on the market that is beautiful, secure, and functional, all without compromising the light and compact nature that makes MacBook Air so special,” said Ryan Jordan, Chief Design Officer for Happy Owl Studio, "this is one hell of a beautiful case."
